Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Samkelo Zwane says he has been working hard in training and is “just waiting for his opportunity”.

Zwane was promoted from the reserve team to the senior team in January 2023 and made 15 appearances across all competitions during the 2022-23 season.

The 22-year-old has found game time hard to come by this campaign and has only made seven appearances coming off the bench.

Zwane says he is ready and determined to break into the starting line up and cement his place as a regular starter for the club.

“I’m well. I have been keeping fit, training with the guys. I have been working very hard in training, just waiting for my opportunity, which I’ll grab with both hands,” Zwane told his club’s official website.

“I feel I could have done better in the games I have played, but I have great support from the coaches and my teammates that encourage me to keep growing and improving.

“Personally, I am ready, and, as a collective, we have all been working very hard at practice to ensure we hit the ground running.”
