SuperSport United have completed a trio of signings from PSL rivals Kaizer Chiefs, the club confirmed on Thursday.

Matsatsantsa ended weeks of speculation by confirming that deals for experienced midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane, goalkeeper Reyaad Pieterse and defender Keegan Ritchie had been completed.

‘I am thrilled to be a part of SuperSport United,’ said the 33-year-old midfielder who made 183 appearances over the past eight seasons for AmaKhosi and has won an impressive 50 caps for Bafana Bafana.

‘I know the coach from my time at Chiefs and I am looking forward to working with him again here.

‘SuperSport has shown that they are a very professional club that look after their players and are always competitive in the cups and a team who are very tough to beat. I am also looking forward to playing in Africa in the Confederations Cup.’

Letsholonyane, a former Bafana international, has previously spent time at Jomo Cosmos, where he made his name with 70 appearances, scoring seven goals along the way.

Yeye joined Ezenkosi from PJ Stars in 2006 where he made 49 starts after working his way up through the lower divisions with spells at the likes of Dangerous Darkies United and Hellenic FC. Letsholonyane joins Matsatsantsa on a two-year deal.

SuperSport United also completed the signing of Reyaad Pieterse.

The 24-year-old goalkeeper joins Matsatsantsa from Kaizer Chiefs on a three-year deal. Pieterse is earmarked to bring in strong competition into the SuperSport United goalkeeping department that already has Ronwen Williams and Boalefa Pule in its roster.

Pieterse joined AmaKhosi in 2013 where he won the Absa Premiership and Nedbank Cup in 2013 under the tutelage of current Matsatsantsa coach, Stuart Baxter.

‘Reyaad is a talented goalkeeper with a very promising future,’ SuperSport United CEO Stan Matthews said.

‘Our coach wants strong competition for every position in the team and with Ronwen, Reyaad and Boalefa; between the poles we think we have the strongest goalkeeping department in the league. When you add in young Mondli Mpoto who is a national under-20 goalkeeper, then the future looks bright for us in this area.’

The goalkeeper will team up with his new teammates at the start of the 2016-17 season.

Ritchie’s swap deal to SuperSport was confirmed during Chiefs’ mass clearout earlier in the week.

‘Every club wants silverware and I just came here to work hard and hopefully get more trophies with the team.’ said Ritchie

‘He (Baxter) understands the way I play,and it makes me more comfortable.I feel more at home knowing that I’ll be working with him.’ concluded Ritchie.
