Kaizer Chiefs striker Ashley Du Preez is relishing the chance to “get back to work” to help Amakhosi finish strongly at the end of the season.
Du Preez most recently scored a brace in their 3-2 defeat to arch-rivals Orlando Pirates in a thrilling Soweto derby encounter at the FNB Stadium on March 9.
The 26-year-old has now netted five goals and registered two assists in 18 appearances in all competitions so far this season.
Du Preez will now get a chance to add to his goal tally when they take on Cape Town City at Athlone Stadium in the DStv Premiership on March 30.
The Stellenbosch-born striker is hoping he can maintain his current form and help the team gain success this season.
“I have not scored a goal since my return from injury, so It’s an amazing feeling to be a part of history of this big match and score a brace,” Du Preez told his club’s official website.
“Every player in South Africa would love to play in the Soweto Derby, and scoring makes it even more special. I’m glad I was able to contribute, even though the final result was not what we were looking for.
“We look forward to going back to work so we, as Kaizer Chiefs, can finish strongly come the end of the season.”
Kaizer Chiefs against Cape Town City is scheduled to kick off at 15:30pm.
