Stellenbosch FC extended their unbeaten run following their 3-0 defeat to Royal AM while Kaizer Chiefs held Cape Town City and Orlando Pirates suffered a 2-1 defeat to Sekhukhune United in the DStv Premiership.
After an own goal by Siphesihle Msomi, goals by Devin Titus and Iqraam Rayners helped the team from the Western Cape rugby union heartland reach 35 points from 20 games.
They lead Sekhukhune United, Orlando Pirates, and SuperSport United by two points in the competition for the second CAF Champions League qualifying spot for 2025.
Leading team Mamelodi Sundowns has played at least two less games than their competitors and leads the league by 11 points. They did not play because they had an African date in Tanzania.

After winning a record 53 domestic trophies, Kaizer Chiefs haven’t won a trophy since 2015. This season, they drew 0-0 away to Cape Town City and finished eighth.
Chiefs are still the most well-liked team in South Africa, pulling sell-out crowds of 22,500 to the Athlone Stadium despite their protracted trophy drought.
