Cape Town Spurs coach Ernst Middendorp has commented on Thato Mokeke, who made his debut for the Urban Warriors against Sekhukhune United.
The 33-year-old joined the Urban Warriors after parting ways with rivals Cape Town City after training with the club for some time.
Mokeke has since featured in his first match for the Urban Warriors, when he played 63 minutes before being substituted for Keagan Buchanan.
Middendorp is confident that Mokeke will play a crucial role in helping Spurs in the remaining games of the season
“He’s a very qualified player, there’s no doubt about that,” said Middendorp according to FARpost.
“He hasn’t played for five, six months now. We were planning [to play him] for 30 minutes, but good, we got him into the second half, and he will definitely help us in the remaining games.”
“But for such a long time not on the field, you have to be careful not to get an injury or another injury at this moment. We stretched it very much today.”
