Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena has provided an update on Bongani Zungu and Rivaldo Coetzee ahead of their DStv Premiership clash against Kaizer Chiefs on Thursday evening.

Zungu is expected to miss the upcoming clash after picking up an injury during their 3-0 victory over TS Galaxy on Monday.

The midfielder has made 28 appearances across all competitions while registering three assists so far this season.

Meanwhile, Coetzee missed the Brazilians victory over the Rockets, but Mokwena has revealed that it was due to his recent return from a long-term injury.

The 27-year-old midfielder has made 22 appearances in all competitions for the Tshwane giants this campaign.

“Rivaldo is fine, it’s just that he has had a long spell out and to have three games in a row would be difficult for him and would probably mean another breakdown,” Mokwena told his club’s official website.

“Zungu looks fine. It’s a deep cut and fortunately it doesn’t look like anything but a deep wound.”
