Royal AM coach John Maduka says his side has to win their remaining games to secure their status in the DStv Premiership or a place in the play-offs.
Thwihli Thwahla stretched their winless run to six matches in the DStv Premiership following their 2-0 defeat to the Brazilians on Tuesday.
Royal AM currently sits in 14th place in the DStv Premiership standings, with 29 points from 28 matches, having won eight games, drawn five and conceded 15 defeats with two games remaining in the season.
Maduka has since praised the youngsters in the team after he gave them much-needed game time and despite the defeat he urged them to learn from this experience.
“It becomes very difficult and again you must check we introduced these boys coming from Diski,” Maduka told SuperSport TV after the game.
“They are still learning, so we have to do with whatever we have, we can’t compete with Sundowns, they can use any player on the day and will give a good performance.
“The boys went there, it’s part of learning, they did well.
“Yes, we didn’t win the game but they did well, they did try to get that experience. So ja we look forward to the next one, very difficult two games to go.
“It’s in our hands, we must win those games for us to be able to survive.”
