Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed the departure of Argentine attacker Junior Mendieta.

The 31-year-old left the Brazilians to join Greek Super League outfit FC Volos after being released by Masandawana.

The Argentine winger has become the sixth player to leave Sundowns following the departures of Bongani Zungu, Gaston Sirino, Brian Onyango, Thabiso Kutumela and Abubeker Nasir.

Mendieta, who joined Sundowns from Stellenbosch FC in July 2023, found the back of the net twice and registered three assists in 29 appearances across all competitions before leaving the club.

“Thank you and farewell Junior, we wish you all the best on your future endeavours,” the club revealed.
