Kegan Johannes has bid farewell to SuperSport United following his move to Tshwane rivals Mamelodi Sundowns.
Johannes has been at SuperSport since joining the club after parting ways with Cape Town Spurs in November 2021.
The 23-year-old has since made 65 appearances across all competitions for SuperSport while scoring four goals and assisting a further one in his time at United.
The South African U23 defender has now secured a move to rivals Sundowns after signing a long-term contract at the club.
Johannes becomes the club’s third signing behind the likes of winger Kobamelo Kodisang and forward Arthur Sales.
“To the Matsatsantsa fans, I am bidding farewell to a place I called home for the past three seasons, I want to say thank you to each and everyone of you for your unwavering support,” Johannes said.
“I want to say thank you to all the Board members and the CEO (Stanley Matthews) for giving me the belief and opportunity to be part of this prestigious club. To the staff, technical team and backroom staff, I want to say thank you for making me a better footballer and a better person as well.
“To my teammates, I want to say a big thank you for the wonderful memories we have created, the support and brotherhood that we shared over these past few years. Thank you so much Matsatsantsa.”
