Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro has showered Monnapule Saleng with praise following his performance against SuperSport United.

The Buccaneers advanced to the MTN8 semi-finals following their 3-1 victory over SuperSport at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday.

Goal from Olisa Ndah, Monnapule Saleng, Evidence Makgopa saw the Soweto giants continue their title defence while former Pirates star Vincent Pule scored a consolation goal for United.

Riveiro says he was pleased with Saleng’s performance and hopes the attacker can continue his form heading into their next match.

“He [Saleng] played well right? I think he did a good job,” Riveiro told SuperSport TV after the game.

“He’s a permanent threat when he’s in the mood, when he is in the right space, so I’m happy for the boy, one more time.

“He gave us a lot and hopefully he can continue.”

Orlando Pirates will now turn their attention to the CAF Confederation Cup first preliminary round first leg when they take on CNaPS Sport on Sunday, August 18.
