Cape Town City have suffered a major blow ahead of the 2024-25 Betway Premiership season after new signing Carlinhos was ruled out for several months with a knee injury.

The Angolan international midfielder was one of 10 new signings made by coach Erik Tinkler during the off-season.

City have since confirmed that Carlinhos suffered a knee injury and looks set to miss the first half of the 2024-25 season.

“Carlinhos has suffered a knee injury, which will see him miss the first half of the season,” City confirmed on X.

“Wishing you a speedy recovery, Carlinhos.”
