Mamelodi Sundowns coach Manqoba Mngqithi insists his side need to stamp their authority when they take on Mbabane Swallows in the CAF Champions League on Saturday.
The Brazilians will host Eswatini’s champions at Lucas Moripe Stadium in the second preliminary round first leg.
Sundowns will look to rebound back after losing to Stellenbosch FC in the MTN8 semi-finals.
Mngqithi says he will show his side respect when they come to the Lucas Moripe Stadium because he knows how dangerous the Congolese side can be.
“For me it is never about setting the tone for the rest of the season, it’s about winning a football match. It is important to respect the opponents and not go into a game with a preconceived idea,” Mngqithi told his club’s official website.
“This is a game where we need to stamp our authority. We go into the game with an open mind, lots of respect and humility.
“It’s good that we are not travelling and that the match will be played in Pretoria, considering that the Bafana Bafana players only joined us two days before the match.
“If we were travelling to Eswatini, it was going to be difficult for us. Now that the game is played locally, it gives us a chance,” he concluded.
