Orlando Pirates have confirmed that attacking midfielder Lesedi Kapinga has parted ways with the club by mutual consent.
Kapinga joined the Buccaneers as a free transfer after he was released by Mamelodi Sundowns following the conclusion of the 2022-23 season.
The 29-year-old struggled to cement his place in the starting line up and was reduced to 13 appearances in all competitions for Pirates last season.
Kapinga is the latest player to leave the club behind Kermit Erasmus, Fortune Makaringe, Thabang Monare, Souaibou Marou, Siyabonga Mpontshane, Richard Ofori, Vincent Pule and Bongani Sam.
The Limpopo-born midfielder is now a free agent and is free to join a club of his choice before the transfer window closes on Friday.
Orlando Pirates have released the following statement confirming his departure:
Orlando Pirates Football Club can confirm that it has reached an agreement with Lesedi Kapinga for the early release of his contract.
Both parties have agreed to amicably part ways following a meeting earlier today.
On behalf of the extended Orlando Pirates family, we would like to thank Lesedi for his time at the Club and we wish him all the best for the future.
Thank You Lesedi
