Richards Bay FC coach Brandon Truter felt his side “deserved a bit more” and “ran out of time” in their defeat to Orlando Pirates.

The Natal Rich Boys suffered their second defeat in the Betway Premiership following their 1-0 loss to Pirates at the King Goodwill Zwelithini Stadium in Durban.

The defeat saw Richards Bay dropped to 10th place in the league standings with four points from their first four matches.

Meanwhile, Pirates remain unbeaten after three games and find themselves sitting in second place on the table level on nine points with first placed Mamelodi Sundowns.

“The man of the match for making a double save once off? We were not even really troubled, I think we had it in the bag or at least get something out of the game. A set play today and a set play against Chippa [led to us losing],” Truter told SuperSport TV after the game.

“We’re difficult to break down. Compliment to them but we also had our chances, miscued and rushed as well. Once they got the set-play, they scored from it.

“We had to make tactical changes. We were on the front foot, unlucky we ran out of time there. We had them on the back foot.

“But massive effort from the boys, thank you to them. I think we deserved a bit more but unlucky, congratulations to Pirates.”
