Orlando Pirates captain Innocent Maela says he was happy to contribute to the team’s success following their triumph in the MTN8.

Maela lead his team to their third successive MTN8 after they came from behind to defeat Stellenbosch FC 3-1 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.

This was the Buccaneers fourth in the last five years, having won the top-eight title in 2020, 2022, 2023 and 2024.

Maela expressed his happiness after leading his team to victory while taking the time to thank the club and it’s supporters.

“It feels good, great being on the pitch making sure that I contribute,” Maela said.

“Look at everyone, look how happy we are, our supporters, how happy they are.

“We do what we do for them, congratulations to the players, the technical team and now its time for us to go out there and enjoy.”
