Royal AM coach John Maduka says he was happy with his team’s performance despite not getting the desired result they wanted.
Thwihli Thwahla unbeaten run in the Betway Premiership came to an end following their 2-1 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Wednesday.
The defeats sees Royal AM occupy ninth place on the log with four points from five games after the defeat in Pretoria.
Royal AM will look to bounce back when they welcome Sekhukhune United to the Harry Gwala Stadium in their next league fixture on Saturday afternoon.
“We started slow, unfortunately we made the mistake and you know Sundowns if you make a mistake, they wait for those moments and they punished us. After that I think we got better and better whenever we tried to play our game,” Maduka told SuperSport after the game.
“We looked a little bit much better. The second-half we said let’s try to push a little bit more forward so we can able to get some chances.
“But I think the boys did that. We had a couple of chances, even in the first-half. [Motebang] Sera had one that maybe he knew where he was, he was supposed to do better.
“Every time we tried to play the game we know we looked better, I’m proud of the boys, they put the hard work against Sundowns, apart from that mistake we did well.
“Yes, we didn’t get the points we needed but I’m happy with the performance.”
