Mamelodi Sundowns coach Manqoba Mngqithi has expressed his desire to win the Carling Knockout Cup.
The Brazilians cruised to a comfortable 4-0 victory over Amakhosi thanks to a brace by Iqraam Rayners and goals from Peter Shalulile and Khuliso Mudau at the FNB Stadium.
Sundowns have now secured their place in the semi-finals of the competition, where they will take on Marumo Gallants at the Mbombela Stadium on November 10.
The Tshwane giants will now turn their attention back to the Betway Premiership when they play host to Polokwane City at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Wednesday evening.
“We would love to win this trophy, if the mentality to win every match stays strong and we’re consistent, then we’ll ultimately win the trophy and that’s what we’re trying to do,” Mngqithi told SuperSport TV after the game.
“We suffered a big set-back in the MTN8 but now I think the team is coming together.”
Kick-off has been set for 7:30pm.
