United to smash transfer record for Bale

Manchester United are preparing a massive €120-million bid to bring Gareth Bale back to the Premier League, according to reports.

Bale appears content to remain in La Liga having just won the Champions League with Real Madrid but reports have again emerged linking Manchester United with a move for the Welsh wizard, reports El Confidencial.

The 26-year-old is already the world transfer fee record holder; when Real Madrid paid €100-million to bring the forward from Tottenham Hotspur to the Spanish capital back in 2013.

Despite Bale’s intention to remain part of Zinedine Zidane’s Madrid, United have been linked once again with a bid that will surpass even that figure to sign the star. That sum is believed to be the same fee United have been quoted to acquire the services of Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba.

Bale is a firm favourite of Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, who the President believes is the eventual heir to Cristiano Ronaldo at the Spanish club. Thus, without Bale actively desiring an exit from the club, a move from Real Madrid would be ‘unthinkable’.

Bale managed 31 appearances for Los Blancos this term, netting 20 goals and assisting on 12 occasions. The win was the player’s second European triumph as Bale also tasted victory when he scored in the 2014 final.
