Mamelodi Sundowns got their campaign off to the perfect start after they cruised to a comfortable 5-0 victory over Golden Arrows through goals from Thapelo Morena, Iqraam Rayners, Mothobi Mvala, Peter Shalulile and Kutlwano Letlhaku at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on October 19.
Kaizer Chiefs 0-4 Mamelodi Sundowns
Mamelodi Sundowns then faced off against Kaizer Chiefs in the quarter-finals and made light work of Amakhosi after securing a 4-0 victory at the FNB Stadium thanks to a brace by Iqraam Rayners and goals from Peter Shalulile and Khuliso Mudau on November 2.
Marumo Gallants 0-2 Mamelodi Sundowns
Mamelodi Sundowns travelled to the Dr Molemela Stadium to face Marumo Gallants in the semi-final and managed to claim a 2-0 win courtesy of Lucas Ribeiro Costa and Neo Maema in Bloemfontein on November 10.
Mamelodi Sundowns will have it all to play for when they take on surprise package Magesi FC in the Carling Knockout Cup final played at the Free State Stadium on Saturday evening, with kick-off set for 6pm.
