Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi reiterated his call for the club to makes some moves in the January transfer window following their 1-0 Betway Premiership defeat to Cape Town City on Sunday.
The loss is a fourth of the season for Chiefs, who are in seventh in the table with 15 points from their 11 games. For context, Mamelodi Sundowns have double that number from the same number of matches.
Chiefs lost to a second half Darwin Gonzalez goal and in truth created little in the way of chances against a City side who have also been struggling this season and had coach Muhsin Ertugral in the dug-out for the first time.
“It’s obvious when you look at the squad that we feel that there is a need to strengthen the team, but we don’t want to throw our players under the bus saying that they are not good,” Nabi said after the loss.
“No, they are good. Today they are in our squad, they are in our team but every transfer window we will take the opportunity to try to strengthen the team.
“The club is working hard to find the best opportunities that are possible, and we hope that everything can improve our squad.”
Chiefs are next in action on Wednesday when they host Stellenbosch FC.
