Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi says his players promised him they’d give 200 percent to walk away with all three points against Stellenbosch FC.
The Glamour Boys returned to winning ways after they secured a 1-0 win over Stellies thanks to a goal from Makabi Lilepo at Athlone Stadium on Friday.
The win saw Chiefs remain in fourth place in the standings with 25 from 17 matches, having won seven matches, while Stellies have moved up to eighth place on the log with 20 from 14 matches.
The Tunisian coach was happy with his side’s performance to walk away with the win and all three points away from home.
“Honestly its a very good performance, thank you to all the players and in particular my conditioning coach Mr (Safi) Majdi you know this is game number three in seven days and you look at the physical conditioning of my players it’s incredible,” Nabi told SuperSport TV after the game.
“Majdi is a high level conditioning coach, congratulations to him and all the players, because they promised me before the game that they will give me 200 percent for three points, for myself and for the supporters, I’m very happy about that.
“It’s true that we didn’t concede a lot of opportunities but credit goes to every player who was in the field, from the front line to the back, everyone worked very hard, closed the spaces, tracked back, which made the work of the defenders a little bit easier.”
