SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt was a happy camper after taking charge of his 999th game as a head coach following their victory over Kaizer Chiefs.

Hunt led his side to a comfortable 4-1 victory over Amakhosi after goals from Samir Nurkovic, Christian Saile, Gamphani Lungu and Siphesihle Ndlovu cancelled out Makabi Lilepo’s equaliser at the FNB Stadium on Tuesday evening.

The win sees SuperSport remain in 12th place on the table with 20 points after 18 games, while Amakhosi remain in sixth position with 25 points from 18 matches.

He started his coaching career in 1995–1998 with Seven Stars before he moved to Hellenic from 1998–2001. He later coached the likes of Black Leopards, Moroka Swallows, Bidvest Wits, Kaizer Chiefs, Chippa United and two stints at SuperSport United.

Hunt has now won 416 games, drawn 287, and suffered 296 defeats; his sides have scored 1291 goals and conceded 1037 goals throughout his coaching career.

The 60-year-old will be in charge for his 1000th match when they welcome Golden Arrows to the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday.
