The drought continues for Cole Palmer after missing his first senior penalty during Chelsea’s Premier League against Leicester City on Sunday.

Enzo Maresca’s side went on to win the clash 1-0 at Stamford Bridge thanks to a long range goal from Marc Cucurella on the hour mark.

The pressure was on Palmer to deliver the goods from the penalty spot, having scored 12 consecutive penalties as he attempted to end his goal drought and boost his confidence.

Palmer was aiming to extend his record by converting his 13th successive successful penalty for the Blues but saw his effort saved by Leicester goalkeeper Mads Hermansen.

This was Palmer’s seventh Premier League appearance in a row without finding the back of the net and his long streak with scoring, with his last goal coming in their 2-2 draw against Bournemouth on January 14.
