Sekhukhune United have announced the arrival of Eric Tinkler as the club’s new head coach.

Tinkler joins the club after parting ways with Cape Town City and comes on to replace Lehlohonolo Seema.

The 54-year-old will be assisted by Paulus Masehe, Marc Van Heerden, and Nascent Nkhwashu (Goalkeeper coach), who will form part of his technical team.

Tinkler brings a wealth of experience having previously coached Orlando Pirates, Cape Town City, SuperSport United, Chippa United and Maritzburg United.

“Sekhukhune United Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Eric Tinkler as Head Coach, he will immediately take the reins and lead the team,” Sekhukhune released the following statement.

“Tinkler is an accomplished football coach, with over 30 years of experience in the game, he holds UEFA and CAF A licenses with numerous other prestigious coaching badges.

“The new Head Coach is no stranger to success, having previously won the MTN 8 and Telkom Knockout tournaments and reaching numerous finals in the CAF Champions League, CAF Confederation Cup, and other domestic competitions. His best place finish in the league was a 2nd Position.

“Eric can best be described as a forward thinking leader, who is ready to take on an ambitious team like Babina Noko to new heights. Speaking on this appointment, club Chairman Mr. Simon Malatji said: “We are honoured to have an experienced mentor like Tinkler, in charge of our project.”

“Head Coach Eric Tinkler will be assisted by Paulus Masehe, Marc Van Heerden, and Nascent Nkhwashu (Goalkeeper coach) in a new-look technical team.”
