Sundowns have wasted no time in replacing former defender Ramahlwe Mphahlele, with the signing of the Brazilian defender from Portuguese side Academica.

The Brazilians have confirmed on their official website that Nascimento has signed a three-year contract with the club.

The former Sundowns captain was unveiled by Kaizer Chiefs on Monday after declining a contract renewal with the Absa Premiership champions

Nascimento has played for the likes of Portuguese side’s Moreirense, Portimonense and Romanian side Astra Georgia, before joining Academica in 2014.

The 29-year-old Brazilian said that he looked forward to contributing to Mamelodi Sundowns quest for African Cup glory and the Absa Premiership.
