Black Aces goalkeeper Jackson Mabokgwane has been linked with a move to Soweto giants Orlando Pirates, according to reports.
The Bafana Bafana international is believed to have attracted interest from the Buccaneers following the appointment of Muhsin Ertugral as the new Pirates head coach.
According to a source, the 28-year-old’s move to Pirates will soon be officially confirmed.
‘It is almost a done deal between Pirates and Aces. Expect confirmation any time from now,’ a source told The Sowetan.
The source also revealed that Buccaneers goalkeeper Felipe Ovono is set to leave if Mabokgwane joins the club.
‘Ovono is likely to leave, which opens the door for Mabokgwane, and that’s why he [Mabokgwane] is still here in Gauteng and not in Cape Town,’ the source added.
During the 2015-16 season, the Amazayoni shot-stopper struggled with injuries and could only manage to make 12 appearances, while keeping five clean sheets in all competitions.
If a deal between the two teams is agreed, Pirates duo Brighton Motloung and Tshepo Gumede would have to move to Cape Town.
