Chelsea has confirmed that defender Nathan Ake will spend the upcoming season on loan at Bournemouth.

The 21-year-old moves to the Cherries having also spent last season in the Premier League on loan at Watford, reports the Chelsea website.

The Dutch U21 international had a successful season at Watford winning the club’s Young Player of the Year award and helped them reach the FA Cup semi-final, during his loan spell.

Ake made 12 appearances for Chelsea including matches in successful Europa League and Captial One Cup campaigns.

The defender signed a new five-year contract last summer having joined the Blues academy in 2011.
