French superstar Antoine Griezmann has extended his lead at the top of the Euro 2016 scoring charts following a double in Les Blues’ win over Germany.

Griezmann’s tally for the tournament now stands at six goals, double the tallies of his nearest rivals. The Atletico Madrid hitman has proved fatal to the opposition inside the penalty area as his pace and quick feet allow him to leave opposition defenders for dead before working a decisive strike.

The 24-year-old already has one hand on the Golden Ball as it will take nothing short of a miracle for the star to be caught now, with just the final yet to be played.

If there is one player who is used achieving the seemingly impossible it is Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portuguese has hit three goals in the tournament and has proved particularly dangerous in the box with his aerial ability. The forward’s remarkable scoring record means the prospect of a stunning hat-trick in the final can never be ruled out.

Ronaldo’s teammate Luis Nani is another of the players who could draw level with Griezmann should he hit an unlikely treble. Nani, largely in Ronaldo’s shadow, has nevertheless been industrious for Portugal. The forward is most likely to take advantage of his quick reactions and poaching abilities to grab further goals.

Olivier Giroud is another of the players who could yet draw level with his French counterpart. The burly Arsenal man has been content to play more of a supporting role up front, but could yet take advantage of his power and deadly finishing.

Finally, winger Dimitri Payet is another of the players currently on three goals. The West Ham United star has been in superb form in the competition but is perhaps the least likely to challenge for the Golden Boot given he plays in a deeper role than the fellow contenders. Nevertheless, Payet has proved deadly with his long range efforts.
