Bidvest Wits midfielder Sibusiso Vilakazi is reportedly edging closer to a move to Mamelodi Sundowns following months of speculation.
Vilakazi has allegedly inked a 3-year deal with the Brazilians that will see Cuthbert Malajila and Mogakolodi Ngele head the other way, reports the Daily Sun.
Sundowns are believed to have been reluctant to pay the R10 million sum being demanded by the Clever Boys, but that fee is likely to have been brought down due to the players offered in part exchange.
‘The player [Vilakazi] is happy about the whole development and is excited about finally realising his dream of joining Sundowns,’ a source told Daily Sun.
‘He was no longer happy at Wits and indications are that the Wits coach [Gavin Hunt] wouldn’t be happy either, having to hang on to an unhappy player.’
Kaizer Chiefs were another club said to have been interested in signing the attacking midfielder, but were unable to reach a deal.
The 26-year-old Vilakazi hit seven goals in 25 Premiership appearances for Wits last term.
