Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard is hoping Jose Mourinho can maintain his incredible silverware record as manager of the Reds.
The 23-year-old reports the training sessions under Mourinho have gone well so far with the manager ensuring the players work hard but enjoy themselves, according to the Manchester United website.
The players have undertaken some tough workouts in the sweltering heat in Shanghai during Tour 2016, but Lingard revealed the squad are keen to put in the time and effort, insisting he is enjoying life under Mourinho.
‘The sessions are intense and hard work but the manager likes a joke and it’s been great fun so far,’ Lingard said.
‘Everyone has taken a liking to him. He’s a really chilled, easy-going guy and we’re all looking forward to the season. He’s won a lot of trophies and we hope he can help us to win some here.’
The midfielder revealed how Axel Tuanzebe is settling into his first-team tour with the Reds.
‘He’s with me and Marcus [Rashford] at the back of the bus, and Timmy [Fosu-Mensah] as well,’ he added.
‘It’s a great experience for him. hopefully, he’ll get some minutes, look to impress and take it into the season. He’s really enjoying it.’
