SuperSport United star Clayton Daniels has cooled talk he is poised to make a switch to new Premiership club Cape Town City.
The 32-year-old has revealed he is planning to stay at SuperSport until his contract expires. At present, the defender has a year left on his contract at the club but has the option of extending that deal by a further year.
Daniels is confident he is well set to challenge for titles with his current side.
‘I’m happy here at SuperSport and as you know the coach [Stuart Baxter] has assembled a very good squad and we are serious about challenging for league honours,’ Daniels told KickOff.
‘The club is on to something big and honestly speaking I don’t see the need to leave. This is all just speculation and I’m fully committed to coach Baxter and the club,’ he added.
Indeed, Daniels insists he has had no contact with the Cape Town club whatsoever.
‘For the record I have had no contact with them, but I’m flattered by the story,’ he concluded.
