National First Division side Royal Eagles are eager to sign both Phumelele Bhengu and Lennox Bacela.
The attacking pair are currently free agents following their release from their respective clubs. Bhengu was recently released by SuperSport United following the run down of his contract, while Bacela was released by AmaTuks back in July.
Bacela, for his part, had looked close to joining new club Cape Town City, but failed to impress boss Eric Tinkler while on trial.
Neither player enjoyed the 2015-16 season as each struggled to get minutes on the pitch with their top division sides. Now, however, the pairing look likely to accept contracts from second-division Eagles, as reported by KickOff.
‘The club is talking to both Bacela and Bhengu and negotiations are now at an advanced stage,’ a source revealed.
‘They are expected to sign before the end of this week.’
Bacela made 29 appearances in all last term but netted just three times, while Bhengu managed just four appearances.
