Liverpool’s rollicking start against Arsenal was due to Philippe Coutinho’s inspired performance.
The mercurial Brazilian stunned Peter Cech with his perfectly struck free kick in the first minute of time added on in the opening 45 minutes to draw his side level.
It was Coutinho’s second half cameo that saw the points travel back from London to Liverpool.
According to SASoccermag’s Opta-powered stats, the 24-year old only touched the ball 34 times before leaving the field in the 70th minute due to cramp but scored with two goals from his three chances.
His manager Jurgen Klopp will be well pleased with his dynamic display as he cut and weaved through the Arsenal defence even if he failed to complete one of his two crosses or failed with five passes on the 22 occasions he looked to play in a teammate.
Klopp knows that Coutinho’s brilliance and ability to make something from nothing is what makes him one of the most threatening in the Premier League.
