20-year-old Teenage Hadebe, the Chicken Inn star who was recently on trial with Kaizer Chiefs, has reportedly impressed the side.
Hadebe, who has now returned to his native Zimbabwe, spent a week on trial with the Amakhosi as the side looked to test the player ahead of a proposed move, reports KickOff.
Hadebe has been touted as the solution to Chiefs’ defensive problems following the long-term injury to first choice centre back Eric Mathobo. Now, having impressed in his time training with the club, it is believed the clubs will come to an agreement over his transfer.
The Glamour Boys have two slots remaining in their squad for foreigner players having thus far registered the likes of Lewis Macha, Mitchell Katsvairo and Edmore Chirambadare.
With the likes of Togolese forward Camaldine Abraw expected to be the fourth star registered by Steve Komphela’s side, the remaining slot could well soon belong to Hadebe.
Meanwhile, Hadebe may well make an appearance in Zimbabwe’s upcoming 2017 Afcon qualifier against Guinea in September. Zimbabwe has already qualified for the tournament finals, however, meaning the game could pose an opportunity for experimentation.
Chiefs begin their Premiership campaign with a clash away to Bidvest Wits at Bidvest Stadium on Tuesday.
Kick-off is at 19:30.
