Ajax Cape Town coach Roger de Sa has admitted he is unnerved by the prospect of facing unknown entity Baroka in his side’s opening fixture.
Baroka will make their bow in the Premiership having topped the standings in the National First Division last season and Urban Warriors are uncertain of what to expect.
‘Possibly the one encounter we didn’t want first up would be Baroka away,’ the coach told the media, reports KickOff.’ They’re the team we know the least about, a team that is very, very motivated and can’t wait to get going.’
The coach admitted he has had little opportunity to observe the style of the side but did witness their standout performance against Kaizer Chiefs last season.
De Sa, meanwhile, has an inexperienced side at disposal but remains hopeful the club can pick up all three points.
‘It’s a tough game for us against the unknown with a very young team, so it’s not ideal for us,’ he said. ‘But that’s what it is and we’ve got to get on with it, but hopefully we will bring something back.’
The clash between the two sides will be played at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Tuesday,
Kick-off is at 19:30.
