Baroka coach Kgoloko Thobejane says he was left frustrated following his side’s 1-1 draw with Ajax Cape Town in their maiden Absa Premiership match on Tuesday.

The newly-promoted side hosted the Urban Warriors in their Absa Premiership opener with goals by Richard Matloga who cancelled out Nathan Paulse’s ninth minute penalty.

The Baroka mentor insists that his side failed to convert their chance, ultimately lead to his side drawing their first topflight encounter.

‘This football can kill you sometimes, with all our chances – scoring chances!’ Thobejane told SuperSport after the match.

‘But this is football, it happens. But as Baroka we are still saying we are there … we want to win this League. The only thing we can do is to make use of our chances. If you play football and you miss chances like this, then you’ll end up drawing the game instead of winning.’

Thobejane insists that he is still determined and will continue to make history with the 2015-16 NFD champions.

‘Our boys made a mistake in the first half, so I just told them that a game of football is a game of football – we have to go out and beat these guys,’ he added.

‘But my boys, and I’m sure even the Baroka fans, are happy to see how we played, and my message to them is: ‘Baroka is there to make things happen. We still want to write history and carrying on writing these books about football’.’

Baroka will now take on fellow newly-promoted side Highlands Park in their next PSL fixture at the Makhulong Stadium on September 13.
