SASoccermag editor Wade Pretorius challenges media personality Sias du Plessis to put his Premier League knowledge to the test.
Du Plessis is keen football supporter with his allegiance tied to Newcastle United, now plying their trade in the Championship following relegation last season.
UPDATE: Du Plessis managed to accumulate 16 points in round three after earning bonus points for six correct picks, while editor and part-time Superbru guru, Wade Pretorius mustered 14 points after failing to guess correctly against Southampton vs Sunderland, Crystal Palace vs Bournemouth and West Brom vs Middlesbrough.
The former 5fm and SuperSport presenter currently presents sports news for CCTV; when he’s not drinking coffee that is.
‘It’s a tough one to call.’ says Du Plessis when asked to back up his reason for predicting a 1-1 draw in the match of the week between Spurs and Liverpool.
‘Spurs are at home and will be tough to break down with a man like Victor Wanyama protecting the back four. He is a workhorse and has plenty in the gas tank so you can expect a big performance from him.
‘The Reds have some game changers in their lineup and must be expected to bounce back after a surprise loss to Burnley. It will be a tight contest between the sides and it will be interesting to see how the visitors respond to last week’s display, especially of they concede first.
‘I feel that Liverpool will be chuffed if they leave the Lane with a point.’
Premier League Week 3:
Tottenham Hotspur 1-1 Liverpool (Wade’s pick: 1-1)
Watford 0-2 Arsenal (Wade’s pick: 1-2)
Southampton 1-1 Sunderland (Wade’s pick: 2-0)

Everton 2-0 Stoke City (Wade’s pick: 2-0)
Crystal Palace 2-1 Bournemouth (Wade’s pick: 2-1)
Chelsea 2-0 Burnley (Wade’s pick: 3-0)
Hull City 0-2 Manchester United (Wade’s pick: 1-2)
West Brom 1-1 Middlesbrough (Wade’s pick: 1-0)
Manchester City 2-0 West Ham (Wade’s pick: 2-0)
Scoring:
1 point for a correct result
