Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic says winning is all he is focused on but he admits disappointments can be used as lessons, even for a player with his experience.
The 34-year-old old scored the Red Devils only goal for his side during their 2-1 defeat against city rivals Manchester City at Old Trafford last week.
The Swedish striker has hailed Jose Mourinho for what he has achieved over the years as a manager but also insisting that the pair will start winning together.
‘I know what he wants, I know his demands. He’s a winner and I see myself as a winner also, I do anything to win. And we won,’ Ibrahimovic told the Manchester United website.
‘He won when he was younger and I won when I was younger and we will win when we are a little bit older. Not old, but a little bit older.
‘He is direct with everyone. He is not someone who goes behind your back. I prefer that instead of someone who doesn’t say anything to you. He does what he needs to do to win. Just like me as a player. I don’t accept to lose. When I lose, I learn and I will not lose, I will win.’
Ibrahimovic says that he is flattered by the talk of him having a similar impact as Eric Cantona did at United.
‘Every player makes his own story. To compare another story would not be fair,’ he added.
‘For me, though, the talk about me and his story I take as a compliment. He did a fantastic story and it will remain in the history books and the supporters’ hearts probably forever. So I take it as a compliment.’
Manchester United turn their focus on their visit to Feyenoord on Thursday.
The Europa League clash kicks off at 19:00.
