Arsenal wing Theo Walcott has discussed his partnership with Alexis Sanchez after the Chilean international set up both his goals in their victory over Basel on Wednesday.
The 27-year-old’s brace inspired the Gunners to a 2-0 victory over the Swiss side in the Champions League after being set up by Sanchez in the seventh and 26th minute of the match.
Walcott says the combination between himself and Sanchez is boding well but he insists it is still early in the season to judge.
‘It’s getting a good sort of partnership there, but it’s not just that, the whole team seems to be clicking. Me and Hector have got a good relationship on that right-hand side, it’s quite a pacy right-hand side,’ Walcott told the Arsenal website.
‘That combination between me and Alexis, it’s boding well but it’s obviously still very early into the season, so hopefully we can all stay fit and it’s going to be a good run.’
The England international says his chemistry with Sanchez is positive at the moment and he insists that it’s a good combination.
‘It’s started off very well. I will look back on this game but, yeah, the combinations between me and him are very positive at this moment in time,’ he added.
‘We seem to sort of know when we play off each other quite well. If he comes short, I go long and we’ve just got a good sort of combinations.’
