Safa president Danny Jordaan has urged Bafana Bafana to make the country proud as they take on Burkina Faso in their World Cup qualifiers on Saturday.

The South African national team will play the Stallions in their qualifying match at Stade du 4 Aout in Ouagadougou.

Jordaan believes Shakes Mashaba’s side has what it takes has to play top level football, having already proven themselves against top country in the past.

‘We have what it takes to compete and beat the best sides in the world. We have demonstrated it against some of the best sides like Spain, Brazil, Egypt just to mention a few,’ Jordaan told the Safa website.

‘On your day, you can be one of the best sides in the world but you need to perform like that on constant basis.’

The Safa president continued to say that it will be important for Bafana Bafana to get off to a positive start to their campaign, declaring there are no second chances in the qualifiers.

‘There is no second chance in these qualifiers, you have to go for broke from the word go. I know you can do it. Go to Burkina Faso and make a statement that you want to be among those countries going to Russia,’ he added.

Bafana Bafana against Burkina Faso kicks off at 20:00.
