Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Teko Modise says he is excited to be in the CAF Champions League finals knowing that the job is only half done.
The Brazilians beat Zamalek 3-0 in the first leg of the African finals and now carry a 3-0 advantage heading into the second-leg final match at Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria.
The veteran midfielder believes his side executed their game plan perfectly but insists that Sundowns’ work is only half done.
‘Look, it is exciting to be in the final. We went out there with a plan and it worked out. There is still work to be done though as the job is only half done,’ Modise told his official website.
He added that it is up to coach Pitso Mosimane and his technical team to decide the club’s priorities with their upcoming fixture against Polokwane City in the Telkom Knockout Last 16 encounter.
‘One cannot say we must choose one from the other. Yes, one is more important than the other but that is the job of the technical team. That is not the headache of the players,’ he added.
‘Our job is to give 100 percent all the time. Therefore when you wear that jersey and head on to the field, you must work.’
Mamelodi Sundowns will next take on Zamalek in the second leg of the CAF Champions League finals at Borg El Arab Stadium on Sunday.
