Barcelona have confirmed that Brazilian superstar Neymar has signed a new four-and-a-half-year contract at Camp Nou keeping him there until 2021.
The 24-year-old has put pen to paper on his new and improved contract with the Spanish champions following months of speculation over his future with the club.
The forward says he is delighted to have committed his long-term future to the La Liga champions.
‘I’m really happy to be renewing my contract with the club, I feel really at home here,’ Neymar said.
‘Before I came to Barcelona I was obviously already well aware that they were a massive club. The players here are incredible and, from the outside, that intimidated me a bit before I joined.’
The Brazilian captain revealed that he was shocked to see how humble his new teammates were when he joined the club from Brazilian side Santos in 2013.
‘But as soon as I walked into the dressing room it was clear how down-to-earth they were. I was really struck by that, and it helped me to settle in,’ he added.
