Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has backed Zlatan Ibrahimovic to rediscover his scoring form and show why he is one of the best strikers in the world.
The 35-year-old rattled the woodwork and had a number of attempts at goal following their goalless draw against Burnley but the visiting goalkeeper Tom Heaton was in an exceptional form to deny the Swedish striker.
Herrera says he has no doubt that Ibrahimovic will find his form in front of goal and start getting on the scoresheet more often for United.
‘If one player can overcome this moment it is him because his attitude, character and the way he works is fantastic,’ Herrera told the Manchester United website.
‘I’ve got no doubt he’s going to score a lot of goals for us but it’s not only him – we’ve missed a lot of chances.
‘He did a lot of good things for the team. A lot of the chances we created were because of him. We have one of the best strikers in the world.’
Manchester United will now turn their attention to the Europa League when they take on Fenerbahce on Thursday.
The match at Ulker Stadyumu kicks off at 20:00.
