Ajax Cape Town midfielder Bantu Mzwakali has pledged his loyalty to the club by extended his contract to remain at Ikamva for another four years.

The 22-year-old put in a man of the match performance during his side’s 1-1 draw with Free State Stars on Wednesday.

The club’s executive director Ari Efstathiou has confirmed that the midfielder has signed an extension with the club, declaring that the club will help Mzwakali achieve his goal of making a move to Europe.

‘It’s really great that he has extended, he is now settled with what he wants to do. He’ll be here for the next four years. He signed his contract on Friday and you could already see the difference in the way he played,’ Efstathiou told the Ajax Cape Town website.

‘He has realised that this is the club that will help him achieve what he wants to do and that is going to Europe.

‘Not many people realise just how young he is. He is only 22 years old. He signed his first contract as a teenager. That he has made a commitment to the club is fantastic.’

Ajax Cape Town will next take on Maritzburg United when the two side’s meet in the Absa Premiership on November 19.

The match at Cape Town Stadium kicks off at 20:15.
