Nigerian goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi has warned Algeria that his team are ready to make history and emerge again in their World Cup qualifier on Saturday.
However, he insists that Algeria will not be pushovers and is expecting a tough battle against the Greens.
‘Algeria is rated first in Africa as things stand and considering the fact that they drew at home to Cameroon, they will be hungry to fight against us. We are not expecting an easy game but we are equal to the task,’ Akpeyi told the Chippa United website.
The 30-year-old shot-stopper says his side are relishing the chance to make history.
‘I am sure that I speak on behalf of every player in the national team. We are ready to fight for the badge, make history and emerge again and it all starts on 12 November against Algeria.’
Nigeria against Algeria kicks off at 17:00.
