Uganda and Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Denis Onyango has been nominated for the Most Valuable Player award by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations.
The 29-year-old shot-stopper has been in fine form this season after helping Sundowns to the Caf Champions League and also helping Uganda qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations.
Onyango has been nominated together with Faruku Miya, Joseph Ochaya, Muhammed Shaban and Erisa Ssekisambu.
The Ugandan and Miya are the only nominees plying their trade outside Uganda, with Miya playing for Belgium Pro League side Standard Liege.
He has twice been nominated for the Caf Player of the Year and won the South African Goalkeeper of the Year Award last season.
He was also voted Uganda Footballer of the Year 2015 by top sports journalists of the Uganda Sports Press Association for his performances for both Sundowns and Uganda, beating Miya to become the first goalkeeper to win the prestigious award.
