Ajax Cape Town promising playmaker Luthando Mateza has advised young aspiring professional footballers to remain grounded and keep working hard to achieve their dreams.
The 18-year-old midfielder was part of the Urban Warriors youth academy before earning an opportunity to join the first team at the beginning of the 2016-17 season.
Mateza, who recently made his professional debut against SuperSport United, has advised up and coming players to remain grounded and stressed the importance of hard work.
‘The advice I would like to share with other youngsters out there is that they should keep working hard and stay humble,’ Mateza told the Ajax Cape Town website.
‘Keep doing that every day. You never know who is watching and if you stay humble things will surely happen for you.
‘Plus you should keep praying to God because he always has planned for you as an individual.’
Mateza was nurtured in the Ajax academy under the guidance of then-head of the youth Stanley Menzo before he was promoted to the first team coach.
Ajax Cape Town will now welcome Mamelodi Sundowns to the Cape Town Stadium when the two sides meet in the Absa Premiership on Wednesday.
Kick-off has been set for 19:30.
