For Ajax Cape Town captain Travis Graham, veteran striker Nathan Paulse is an ‘incredible warrior’ itching to get back into the action after returning from injury.
The 34-year-old is wearing a carbon fibre mask while recovering from a cheekbone fracture, and was on the bench during Ajax’s 3-2 victory over Platinum Stars on 22 November.
Although Paulse’s injury prevented him from playing against Dikwena, he was willing to risk it for his team, according to Graham.
‘He didn’t play due to safety reasons, but he was ready to risk it all for the team,’ Graham told the Ajax Cape Town website.
‘Nathan is an incredible warrior, even if he has suffered a big or small knock, he will not sit out.
‘He always gives his all for the team and we can always count on him to have our back. Nathan is vital to the team with his experience a key motivator – he has great advice for the youngsters and that is something you can’t replace.
‘Nathan is a massive asset to the team and being able to call on him, is a huge advantage and boost to all of us at the club.’
Ajax Cape Town will next take on Mamelodi Sundowns in the Absa Premiership on Wednesday.
The match at Cape Town Stadium kicks off at 19:30.
