MDC: Sundowns held by Chippa, Celtic thrash Stars

Mamelodi Sundowns played out to a 1-1 draw with Chippa United with Thanbang Sibanyoni’s 79th-minute strike cancelling out Linda Shiba’s 32nd-minute goal, to remain at the top of the MDC standings with 22 points.

Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs ran out 3-1 winners over Maritzburg United after Mpho Khumalo, Emmanuel Letlotlo and Mpho Khumalo all got on the scoresheet for Amakhosi before Lindokuhle Zondi netted a consolation goal for the Team of Choice.

Orlando Pirates beat SuperSport 1-0 in a match which seemed to be heading for a goalless draw, with Yanga Baliso’s 75th-minute effort being the only goal of the match.

Bloemfontein Celtic, who currently sit second on the table, went on to thrash Platinum Stars 4-0 courtesy of goals from Tshegofatso Mabaso, Neo Maema, Tshegofatso Mabaso and Dylan O’Brien.
