Cape Town City midfielder Aubrey Ngoma says he is delighted with his side’s current form ahead of the TKO final, writes DYLAN APPOLIS.
Eric Tinkler’s side will now be making their debut in the finals of the knockout tournament when they take on four-time finalist SuperSport United on Saturday.
The 27-year-old says he is delighted with the team’s current form but insists that his side are still pushing on as a unit to improve their performance.
‘We are happy with our form, it’s been good to be winning games, but we still have a long way to go, we have to make sure we work harder and push ourselves,’ Ngoma said ahead of the TKO finals on Saturday.
‘It’s all about collective work, we work together well as a unit, it is not any individual effort that making us win games. It has been a team effort, we hope to continue that way.’
Speaking on his partnership with Lebogang Manyana, the midfielder revealed that the two of them has an understanding of each other but has credited the whole squad for their recent form.
‘It’s a matter of understanding each other,’ he added, ‘He understands what type of player I am and I understand where he wants to be and needs to be.
‘But it’s all transported from our defence, they are helping us, along with the midfielders, to have more freedom to go forward.
‘That’s why Lebo has been getting all the goals and I have been assisting him quite well.’
Cape Town City will now go head-to-head against SuperSport United at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.
Kick-off has been scheduled for 18:00.
